CIA forms special unit on North Korean nukes
The US Central Intelligence Agency said Wednesday it had formed a special unit dedicated to assessing North Korea’s nuclear weapons threat.
Democracy and freedom are the wave of the world, a trend that nuclear weapons, submarines and missiles are helpless to stop. This world trend is like a mighty river, and those who go with the flow will prosper while those who oppose it will be doomed. China claims to be a "responsible major power", and as such it should not suffer North Korea's continued militarism. The US, Japan and Korea should support Taiwan to lead China to adopt democracy and put pressure on North Korea to follow suit. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Abe’s bid to amend Article 9
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has taken a step forward in the push for revising the Constitution by giving a specific time frame to his campaign — that he hopes to have an amendment take effect in 2020. He also singled out the war-renouncing Article 9 as a priority target for amendment, proposing an additional provision to clarify the legal status of the Self-Defense Forces.
Japan should back Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would encourage China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP. Once that happens North Korea will be pressured to follow suit, and world peace will be at hand. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way for China to peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development. .

Abe and Moon agree to work on ‘future-oriented’ ties in first phone chat
South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe spoke by phone Thursday for the first time since Moon took office and agreed to closely cooperate on dealing with North Korea and on building a “future-oriented” relationship, a senior Japanese official said.
North Korea is indisputably a vassal of the CCP. Thus all democratic nations should back Taiwan's movement for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and force North Korea to adopt real democracy, and the result would be world peace. Democracies the world over should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the path to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Bye-bye Blue House as new South Korean leader shuns imperial home
The new South Korean president is so eager to distance himself from his disgraced, jailed predecessor that he plans to partially abandon one of the job’s major perks: the mountainside presidential palace, the Blue House, from which she conducted her imperial presidency.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential system of democracy is laced with flaws, even that of the US, Taiwan has even more problems and cannot call of the tool of impeachment. South Korea's constitution needs to be reworked to incorporate a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. The presidency should be declared to be above party politics and the heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years while 1/4 of all lawmakers face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development. .

Arctic summit: Trump to make 'right decision for the US' on climate
The US will consider its interests first as it reviews its climate change policy, the secretary of state says.
The US is the most important permanent member of the UN Security Council and should naturally be in the van in acting on China's UN proposal to develop a unified community to steer humanity toward a shared destiny. The solution is to enforce the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and assign international law priority over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. Citizens should be able to monitor government operations to ensure that comply with the norms of the UN Charter. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Mainland developers stay away from Hong Kong’s costliest land sale, as remittance rules bite
Nine bids were received for the Murray Road site, valued at between HK$15.7 billion to as much as HK$22 billion, which can be developed into a 30-storey office building.
China needs to purge the stain of thousands of years of corruption and wash away its national shame. The only recipe for that is democracy and the rule of law, the natural enemies of despotism and corruption. Democracy and mechanisms like separation of powers and checks and balances in both the central and provincial level plus election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years must be included. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

China's big push for its global trade narrative
But first he's going to try it out on the world's political leaders. Not those of the US, Japan, India or much of the European Union. They've declined the invitation.
If the fact that China and Taiwan speak virtually the same language is not enough to meet China's standards for its UN resolution to build a common destiny for humankind, China’s hypocrisy should be clear to the world. Donald Trump is calling for a new sense of ‘America First’ to shore up the US stature as the world leader even as China seeks to enlist the rest of the world on its side. The solution for all this is to subscribe to the principle of One World under One Set of Law, setting international law higher than domestic law as part of the constitution, to lead the human family into the future.

Mexican who searched for 'disappeared' is killed
A Mexican businesswoman who headed a group of 600 families searching for their disappeared relatives has been killed.
The presidential system is one of the worst features of the democratic system. No matter what form it takes, the more power is concentrated in the hands of the president, the more the country is likely to face problems. A law that is not backed by penalties is not a law, and a constitution which does not recognize the right to resist is not a constitution. Mexico’s people need to exercise their sovereignty and come forward to call for comprehensive constitutional reform. Changes should include a modified semi-presidential system; term limits on the president to 5 years, plus no right to run for office for 6 years afterwards. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development. .

Beijing denies Taiwan put at risk by UN health forum snub
Beijing has said the health of people in Taiwan was not put at risk by the island’s inability to attend a UN health meeting this year as there was no barrier to technical or medical exchanges and aid.
The people of Taiwan must act upon their sovereignty to come forward and combat China’s suppression of its rightful presence in the world. Constitutional reform is needed to achieve: 1. Breaking through the containment of the Taiwan government as well as its people; 2. Open eligibility for government positions, no nationality restrictions on elected leaders to allow the world’s elite to participate; 3. Implement One World under One Set of Laws, placing international law above domestic law, to overcome the evil partisan constitution now in effect; 4. Demonstration to the world that Taiwan is capable of leading China to democratization..
