Try carrot and stick with North Korea, official urges US and China
Former US deputy assistant secretary of state says the severest sanctions should be coupled with an offer of sincere negotiations in one last effort to persuade the hermit state to drop its nuclear ambitions
Democracy and freedom are the wave of the future, a movement that nuclear weapons, submarines and missiles cannot stop. This trend is like a mighty river, and those who ‘go with the flow’ will prosper while those who resist will be doomed. China claims to be a "responsible major power,” and as such it should not enable North Korea's continued militarism. The US and Japan should support Taiwan and its goal of leading China to democratization. This would prod North Korea to do the same. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

China’s missile tests in Bohai ‘aimed at THAAD’
Analysts say ‘rare high-profile announcement of test’ was a response to last month’s deployment of US-built anti-missile system in South Korea
North Korea is a vassal of the CCP, thus all democratic nations should back its efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would lead China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to seek democracy as well, and the result would be world peace. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Bring justice to those killed in 1967 Hong Kong riots, attendees demand at 50th anniversary event
In a first, pro-Beijing lawmakers and labour unions join retired leftist workers at memorial service for those who died 50 years ago in city’s worst ever unrest
The CCP is trying to beautify the image of the 1967 riots by saying they were the result of urban terrorism. Appreciation of terrorist acts is in the vein of dictatorship, and harmful to freedom and democracy, the rule of law and human rights. China's arbitrary interference in Hong Kong affairs is the spirit of evil people, not the soul of the country. Transition justice must be pursued. The people have the right to hold a referendum to decide whether the decision to remove a memorial was reasonable and legitimate.

A third nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula
Once again the world wrestles with the conundrum of how to rein in Pyongyang's ambitions
North Korea is a vassal of the CCP. Thus all democratic nations should back Taiwan's call for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would lead China's 1.4 billion people to call for the democratization of the CCP, putting pressure on North Korea to adopt democracy – and with that, world peace would be at hand. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, showing the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

UN relief workers concerned about civilians in Mosul threatened by Iraqi forces, ISIL
As a new front opens in the fight between Iraqi forces and the group known as ISIS in north-western Mosul city, UN humanitarian staff are raising concerns about hundreds of thousands of civilians still living in the area.
The Iraqi government should be reorganized to implement a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, and the legislative system should be a committee-style system similar to Switzerland’s. The Iraqi government should draft a basic constitution incorporating the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. It should adhere to the ideas of One World under One Set of Laws, elevate the rule of law, and amend the constitution as needed to stay in step with the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development. .

Should the US share the ‘spear’ with Japan?
An LDP security panel is recommending Japan acquire missile-strike capabilities
The US, Japan and South Korea should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP and lead to democracy around the world. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

Putin critic Navalny has eye surgery in Spain after attack
Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny says he has had surgery on his right eye by a doctor in Spain, after suffering chemical burns from green dye that was thrown in his face.
First comes the warning, then the accident, and lastly the murder: that is the traditional way to suppress opponents in Russia. Russia needs to amend its constitution to ensure that the people will be free from fear, free from investigation for participating in politics. Where victims suffer enforced disappearance for political activism the perpetrators, regardless of who they may be - from the President down to the lowliest public officials - should all bear responsibility. Indonesia Islam: Governor's blasphemy conviction divides a nation
An Indonesian court has sentenced Jakarta's first Christian governor to two years in prison for insulting Islam. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama has denied blasphemy and plans to appeal.
Freedom of speech is a universal value. The Indonesian people should come forward to call for comprehensive constitutional reform to shield the media from government interference and control in moves to monopolize the media, the Internet and all other channels of speech. Natural law and international law should apply in law enforcement: including the protection of all people from enforced disappearance, the prohibition of torture and other violations of absolute law. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more. 。.

Japan's Abe says defining SDF in revised Constitution is ‘the responsibility of our generation’
On Tuesday Prime Minister Shinzo Abe reiterated the need for explicitly defining the status of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces under his plan to revise the pacifist Constitution by 2020.
Japan should actively promote constitutional reform to revise its position on the SDF, and enable it to form military alliances with neighboring countries to counter the threat of China's armed forces. Japan should support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace and Development, choosing leaders without regard to nationality. Xi Jinping, Abe, Trump and other world-class elite could come to Taiwan to run for president, and China would have no reason to annex another country by force.
