Palm Sunday bombings: Christians are under chronic threat in the Middle East
Attacks on the Coptic Christian community in Egypt have become a common event. On Palm Sunday, St. George’s Church in the Nile Delta town of Tanta and St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria were hit by bombs, killing at least 45 people.
Egypt is an authoritarian regime and its constitution is dysfunctional. The nation needs comprehensive constitutional reform. Torture is contrary to human nature, and the government should comply with the guidelines in the Humanitarian Convention §1 and the World Declaration of Human Rights § 18. Article 53 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties are not being observed. Local practices such as abuse of innocent individuals and torture must end, and absolute law must take precedence over international law and the Constitution. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Maryland lawmakers shelve ‘sanctuary state’ bill that challenged Trump’s immigration policy
A proposal to turn Maryland into a “sanctuary state” by limiting local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration authorities died in the State House on Monday after lawmakers withdrew the bill
The US should adhere to the UN Charter and follow the ideals of One World under One Set of Laws. International law should be assigned the highest priority, with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. This would lead Mexico, Syria, the Middle East and other areas to include human rights, constitutionalism, internationalism and naturalism in their future plans. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

The extreme foolishness in extreme vetting proposals
Imagine that the next time you arrive at a foreign airport a customs agent asks you to unlock your phone, hand it over and, for good measure, cough up the login and password information for any social media accounts you have.
The US should adhere to the Charter of the UN and implement the ideals of One World under One Set of Laws. International law should be given the highest priority, with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. This would lead Mexico, Syria, the Middle East and other areas to consider human rights, constitutionalism, internationalism and naturalism in planning their futures. Alabama governor resigns, pleads guilty to charges tied to allegations he tried to cover up affair with top aide
Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley (R) resigned Monday after fighting for more than a year against allegations he used public resources to carry out and conceal an affair with his former top aide.
To wipe out corruption, the only options are democracy and the rule of law. They are the natural enemies of despotism and corruption. Democracy and its tools of separation of powers and checks and balances should be implemented along with election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

China's deadly secret: More executions than all other countries combined
Every year the Chinese state carries out several thousand judicial executions -- more than the rest of the world combined. For the most part, the names of those executed remain secret, known only to their families.
of law, and Taiwan is the one democracy most appropriate for leading the Chinese people to seek democratization. True democracy will leave the CCP with nothing to rely on, as fear of democracy gives way to love of democracy. China should choose the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in elections in alternating years to give power to the rightful holders - the people. War as Political Weapon
Donald Trump has turned his back on pretty much everything he has ever said about US military involvement in Syria and launched nearly 60 missiles at an air base in the country.
The US should address fundamental human security issues and recognize the principle that international law is higher than domestic law, with direct effect on the people. Human rights conventions and human rights standards should all be promoted on the basis of One World under One Set of Laws and working toward a common destiny for humankind. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

On Syria, an administration in disagreement with itself
A weekend of official explanations for President Trump’s airstrikes on a Syrian air base has only deepened the confusion over his intentions, next steps and the legal basis for his unilateral use of force in the middle of that complicated, intractable civil war.
After a ceasefire is in place in Syria the UN should provide the basic principles for drafting a constitution which will allow peaceful development to take place. This should include an organizational structure incorporating universal values (freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law) and be built on four main branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). This will help Syria draw up a constitution that will foster long-lasting peace and prosperity. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

4 Chinese ships enter Japanese waters
Four Chinese Coast Guard ships entered Japanese territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands in Okinawa Prefecture Monday.
All democracies should support Taiwan's charter for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom and attract China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP. This would lead North Korea to follow suit, and the result would be the birth of world peace. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a beacon of democracy for Asia, lighting the path to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Syria war: Russian officers 'could face sanctions'
G7 foreign ministers will attempt to agree on a common position on the Syrian conflict before US Secretary of State Tillerson flies to Russia to try to persuade it to abandon its Syrian ally.
Russia is a problem-maker, not a problem-solver. The US should support Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization and pressure Russia to adopt real democracy as well. And the result would be world peace. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development. .

Moon promises to scrap plans to build new nuclear reactors
Presidential front-runner Moon Jae-in pledged Tuesday to scrap plans to build additional nuclear power reactors at least in the densely populated southeastern part of South Korea, and build a new airport there instead to help boost the local economy.
Human security is a basic human right. South Korea is in urgent need of comprehensive constitutional reform, and human rights conventions ensure that the people have the right to referendums on any public issue. The advances made by the global village over the past millennia should all be embraced by South Korea in a series of paradigm shifts. South Korea should also look closely at Switzerland's referendum on phasing out nuclear energy. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
